LHG Class Descriptions

School Divisions

  • This division is for students of any age that are just starting out or wish to pursue the performing arts recreationally. While no experience is necessary, we do ask that all of our students be dedicated to learning!

Our Elementary Division holds a maximum of 8-10 students in each class to ensure each student receives proper attention.

    Elementary Division Levels:

    Creative (3-4) - Elementary (5-6) - Beginner (6-9) - Level A - Level B - Level C etc.

  • A division for students who have a passion for the performing arts, crave a professional environment and have a strong desire to grow as both artists and humans. While we do not expect all Preprofessional students to want to become professionals, we do expect them to have a strong desire to learn at a professional pace and practice both inside and outside the classroom. Students in the Preprofessional Division develop the work ethic, innovation and team work necessary to be highly successful in any field they choose.

To be considered, students must take Beginner Acting and/or Ballet Prep. Acceptance into the division is through Ms. Lisah’s invitation only. We do not accept auditions.

    Elementary Division Levels:

    Creative (3-4) - Elementary (5-6) - Beginner (6-9) - Level A - Level B - Level C etc.

  • The Professional Division at LHG Creative is a rigorous program for dedicated, highly trained students ages 12+ that wish to begin actively auditioning and performing professionally. Acceptance into this program requires students to be successful in their application, audition and interview processes.

DANCE DEPARTMENT

The Dance Classes at LDC are professional run curriculums that focus on strong anatomical principles, teaching students of all ages proper alignment and technique, right from the start. Our curriculums are progressively designed from one level to the next to ensure all elements of coordination and kinesiology are in place before students move on to harder practices. Another major element of our division is our education in artistry. Students in all classes will learn who they are as a dancer and gain great confidence in expressing themselves through the style of dance they are learning.

Our Dance Department has both recreational and preprofessional classes. No matter what division they belong to, students will receive a strong education in dance and a full understanding of any specific styles they are practicing!

ACTING DEPARTMENT

The Acting Program at LDC is a professional program designed to teach students strong technique, vulnerability and the work ethic to be successful actors at any age!

Unlike other children’s acting programs, we teach technique right from the start. We don’t believe in “playing pretend.” We find that doing so teaches the student to act inauthentically and teaches them to look at the product instead of the process (which results in poorly developed acting habits, keeping students from succeeding in the craft). Instead, we teach students to use strong technique, live in the moment and learn to listen and use their imaginations in an informed, vulnerable and honest way.

All acting students need to be strongly dedicated.

SINGING DEPARTMENT

The Vocal Program at LDC is designed to teach students strong technique, artistry and the work ethic to be successful and confident using their voice in any capacity!

Unlike other children’s singing programs, we teach technique right from the start. Our curriculums are strongly based on anatomy and making sure that our students understand the way that their instrument works and why. We believe that understanding the “why” allows our students to develop proper technique at a faster pace, which in turn encourages quicker progressions and also deters our students from injury later in their singing journeys.
